# Assign item to the next highest bidder

If the winning bidder does not complete checkout before the deadline, Tipo Product Auction can automatically offer the item to another eligible bidder.

> Automatic reassignment is available only when:
>
> * **Allow late payments from winners** is disabled.
>
> When late payments are allowed, winners can complete payment at any time, so reassignment is not available.

### 🛠️ Step-by-step: Configure Automatic Reassignment

1\. Open the app > go to **Settings** > **General** > scroll down to **Winner**

2. Find **If payment is not received** >  tick on **Assign item to the next highest bidder** checkbox

3\. Click **Save**

When enabled:

* If the winner misses the checkout deadline,
* The item is automatically offered to the next eligible bidder

#### Only Assign if Their Bid Meets the Minimum Selling Price

Enable this option to ensure reassignment only occurs when the bidder's offer meets the auction's minimum selling price.

If no eligible bidder meets the minimum selling price, the item will not be reassigned.

#### Maximum Reassignments

Use **Maximum reassignments** to control how many times the auction can be reassigned.

For example:

* 1 = one reassignment attempt
* 3 = up to three reassignment attempts
* 5 = up to five reassignment attempts

Example Workflow:

1. Auction ends.
2. Bidder A wins.
3. Bidder A does not complete checkout before the deadline.
4. The winner order is removed.
5. Bidder B becomes the new winner.
6. Bidder B receives checkout access.
7. The process continues until payment is completed or the reassignment limit is reached.

### 🔄 How auto-assign next winner works

1. The auction ends and a winner is selected
2. The winner receives checkout access
3. The payment time countdown starts
4. If the winner does **not** pay in time:
   * The system automatically assigns the **next highest bidder** as the new winner
5. The new winner receives checkout access

This process repeats until a payment is completed or no bidders remain.

#### Examples: First winner does not pay

**Scenario:**

* Winner A wins the auction
* Payment time: 24 hours
* Winner A does not complete payment

**Result:**

* Winner A loses checkout access
* Winner B (next highest bidder) becomes the new winner
* Winner B can now complete checkout
