arrow-down-9-1Display order & priority

Display order and priority control which widget shows first and which products are preferred when there are multiple options.

Display order

ℹ️ What is Display order?

Display order controls the priority between widgets that appear in the same location.

📌 Rule to remember: Higher number = shown first

⚙️ How Display order works

  • Only applies when multiple widgets appear:

    • On the same page

    • In the same position (e.g. below product form)

  • If there is only one widget, display order does nothing

🧪 Example

You have 2 widgets on the Product page, both shown below the product form.

Widget name
Display order

Related products

10

Frequently Bought Together

5

Result on storefront

  1. Related products (10) → shown first

  2. Frequently Bought Together (5) → shown below

🛠️ How to set Display order

  1. Open the app > click Widget > open the widget you want to edit

  2. Scroll to Choose Recommended Products

  3. Find Display order

  4. Enter a number

  5. Click Save

To keep things simple:

  • 100 → Main / most important widget

  • 50 → Secondary widget

  • 10 → Optional widget

💡 Tip Leave space between numbers so you can reorder later.

Higher priority

ℹ️ What is “Higher priority”?

Some recommendation types (like Same Collection or Same Tag) help the app decide which products to prefer first.

This does not change where the widget appears, only affects which products are chosen inside the widget.

⚙️ Higher priority: Same Collection

When a product belongs to multiple collections, you can select a higher priority collection.

How it works

  • App first tries to recommend products from the selected collection

  • If not enough products are found, it uses other collections

Example

  • Product belongs to: Silver + Gold

  • Higher priority collection: Silver

  • Result: Recommendations prefer Shoes products

⚙️ Higher priority: Same Tag

When a product has many tags, you can choose a priority tag.

How it works

  • App prefers products that share the selected tag

  • Other tags are used only if needed

Example

  • Product tags: silver, gold, titan

  • Priority tag: silver

  • Result: Shows silver-related products first

🔀 What does “Random” do?

Random changes the order of products inside the widget each time the page loads.

  • Does not affect widget priority

  • Does not affect Display order

  • Only changes product order inside the widget

Best for:

  • Showing variety

  • Avoiding repetitive recommendations

⚠️ Common misunderstandings

  • Display order does NOT control product order

  • Display order does NOT affect targeting

  • Higher priority does NOT move the widget position

✔ Display order → widget priority ✔ Higher priority → product selection priority ✔ Random → product order only
