General Settings

The General Settings section lets you control when and where product recommendations are displayed in your store. You can use product tags to include or exclude specific products from showing or appearing in recommendations.

There are 3 options:

Setting	Purpose
Show only if product has tags	Display recommendations only for selected products
Do not show if product has tags	Hide recommendation widget on certain product pages
Do not display tagged products as recommendations	Prevent specific products from appearing in the recommendation list

1.Only show recommendations if the product contains one of the following tags

Use this option to limit recommendations to products with specific tags. If the product doesn’t have any of these tags, the recommendation widget won’t appear on its page.

Example:

• You enter:

  show_recommendation
  has_recommendation

• The app will only show the “Related Products” widget for products that contain either of these tags.

• Products without these tags will not display recommendations.

💡 Useful when you only want recommendations for selected products.

2.Do not show recommendations if the product contains one of the following tags

Use this option to exclude products from showing recommendations. If a product has any of these tags, the widget will not appear on its page.

Example:

• You enter:

  no_recommendation
  hidden_product

• Any product with these tags will not show the recommendation block.

💡 Good for excluding gift cards, special items, or seasonal products.

3.Products which contain any of the tags below will not be displayed in the recommendations

This setting hides specific products from appearing as recommended items — even if other products are eligible to show recommendations.

Example:

• You enter:

  hidden_from_recommendation
  staff_product

• These tagged products will never appear as recommended items on any product page.

💡 Perfect for hiding internal, out-of-stock, or test products.
