Service types

The service types are based on payment options and service duration.

When you create a new service, you can now define how your customers book and pay through our redesigned interface. This guide covers the two main configuration paths.

1-Service Types Based on Time

2-Service Types Based on Payment

🕒 1. Service Types Based on Time

The Booking Logic determines how your calendar is presented to customers. Choose the layout that matches your business workflow.

A. Book by Time Slot

Best for services that happen within a day and have a set duration.

  • Examples: * Barber Shop: 30-minute haircut slots.

    • Medical Clinic: 15-minute check-up appointments.

    • Yoga Studio: 1-hour group classes.

  • Customer View: A list of specific times (e.g., 10:00 AM, 10:30 AM) showing available slots.

B. Book for a Full Day

Used for services where the customer occupies the entire date from start to finish.

  • Examples: * Photography Studio: Renting the space for a full day shoot.

    • Car Rental: Hiring a vehicle for a 24-hour period.

    • Wedding Venue: Booking the hall for a single event date.

  • Customer View: A calendar where they select one specific day.

C. Book Across Multiple Days

Best for services that span several consecutive days.

  • Examples: * Summer Camp: A 5-day youth program.

    • Pet Boarding: Booking a kennel for a Friday–Monday stay.

    • Retreat: A 3-day wellness workshop.

  • Customer View: A date-range picker where they select a Start Date and End Date.

You can now control exactly how and when you collect money for your bookings in the How customers pay section.

  • Pay Now

    • Example: A High-End Spa that requires a $50 deposit to prevent "no-shows."

    • Workflow: Data is saved only after a successful Shopify checkout. A Shopify order is created.

  • Pay Later

    • Example: A Home Cleaning Service where the customer pays cash or via card reader after the job is done.

    • Workflow: The booking is confirmed immediately, draft order is created in Shopify and an invoice is created in Shopify for later payment.

  • No Payment Required

    • Example: A Free Discovery Call for a consultant or a Product Demo.

    • Workflow: The customer simply enters their details and receives a confirmation without seeing a checkout page.
