Premium Art Prints — Multiple Sizes & Frames (Bundle Group)
Sample case
You sell a single piece of artwork but offer it in various sizes and frame options (e.g., 8×10″, 12×16″, 20×30″, with either Wood frame or Metal frame).
In Shopify, each size + frame combination is treated as a separate variant. If you set inventory separately for each variant, you risk:
Double-counting your stock (e.g., 100 prints available → you might inadvertently allow 300).
Incorrect stock levels when someone buys one size/frame variant -> you want that to reduce the stock for all size/frame options.

Solution
1
Create a hidden “Base Inventory” product
Track shared stock
2
Create test variant products
Simulate real products customers see
3
Link them via bundle setup
Sync inventory
4
Place a test order
Verify stock updates correctly
5
Clean up test data
Keep your store tidy
Steps to manage
Step 1: Create a base product (Inventory Source)
This product will act as your main inventory tracker, it’s not meant for customers to buy directly.
In your Shopify admin, go to Products → Add product
Name it something like Art Print - Base Inventory
Set the Product status to active
Under Inventory, set:
Track quantity: Checked
Quantity available: e.g., 100 (this means you have 100 total art prints in stock)
Continue selling when out of stock: Unchecked
Example: If you have 100 physical prints in total (regardless of size or frame), you’ll enter 100 here. Every time a variant sells, this base inventory will decrease accordingly.

Step 2: Create your variant products
Now create the products your customers will actually see. If you already products, you can ignore this step.
Go to Products → Add product again
Name it Art Print
Scroll to Options → Variants, and add your test options.
Option 1: Size → 8×10, 12×16, 20x30
Option 2: Frame → Wood, Metal
This will automatically generate 4 variants:
8×10 Wood
8×10 Metal
12×16 Wood
12×16 Metal
20x30 Wood
20x30 Metal
Under Inventory for each variant:
Track quantity: Checked
Quantity available: e.g., 0 (you’ll leave this blank or 0 because it’ll be synced to the base product later)

Step 3: Link Products to Bundle Group
Open the Tipo Sync app > go to Bundles Groups > click New bundle
Select one variants from product Art Print as bundle master, and the base product as the component
Save the bundle group
Now, when someone buys any of those variants, the base inventory decreases by 1 and the stock count for all linked variants updates automatically.

Step 4: Test the sync
To make sure it’s working:
In Shopify, manually create a test order for one variant (e.g., 8×10 Wood)
Go back to Products → Art Print - Base Inventory. You’ll see the stock decrease by 1 (from 100 → 99).
Check the other variants (e.g., 12×16 Metal). their available stock should now show 99 too.
⇒ That means your test setup works correctly!
